What is a Doula?

A Doula (doo-luh) is a professional support person offering educational, emotional and physical support. A Doula is NOT a medical professional, but is educated on the processes of pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period and newborn care. I support hospital, birth center and home births. I am an advocate for maternal health.
